New words are your key to success. The more words you know, the easier it is to speak English. You may only know the basic rules of grammar, but if you know enough words, you’ll definitely get along and be understood!
Learning foreign words helps you to learn vocabulary consistently and regularly. I definitely recommend writing new words in the dictionary. And not just the ones that come up when learning a new topic, but it’s worth writing down all the words you don’t know from that lesson. If there are too many or too few unknown words, you’re learning from the wrong textbook. Maybe you need an easier or more difficult textbook.
How to learn words?
Some of the words you will be able to remember from the activities, but for other words, try the following methods:
1. Listen to the pronunciation of a new word by writing the word in the electronic dictionary and clicking on the sound icon ;
2. Pronounce the new word at least 10 times. You can also record the pronunciation on your phone and then listen to it;
3. Write one word for 5 to 10 lines;
4. Write the new words on slips of paper and place them in different parts of the house so that all eyes can see the new words you have written;
5. Do as many practical activities with the new words as possible;
6. Try to talk as much as possible, incorporating the new words into your speech. Talk to a friend, teacher, colleague.
Whoever puts in the effort gets what they want!
Good luck!
